Every spring, the San Francisco Decorator Showcase transforms an iconic home into a living gallery of design, where visitors can wander through rooms positively bursting with inspiration. And this year’s Showcase? It’s as bold, beautiful, and boundary-pushing as ever. Since 2016, Revitaliste has had the joy of partnering with some of the Bay Area’s most creative minds to breathe new life into old furniture for this much-loved event.
This year, we were honored to collaborate with five visionary design firms—John K Anderson, Katie Monkhouse, Julie Rootes Interiors, HKB Interior Design, and TRG Architects—to weave revitalized pieces into their thoughtfully curated rooms. From sculptural seating to soulful vintage finds, each piece was transformed with intention and artistry.
Read on to discover the stories behind each space—and the revitalized gems that helped bring them to life.

Beauty Interrupted
TRG Architect’s “Beauty Interrupted” office space at this year’s Decorator Showcase is a sanctuary of creativity. We collaborated with their team to reupholster the desk chair in a textured crimson bouclé that perfectly pairs with the bold Timorous Beasties queen-bee motif. Read on to learn more about our collaboration!
What inspired your decision to reupholster a pre-loved chair for this space, rather than sourcing something new or going custom?
The decision to reupholster was easy: we acquired the chair from Coup D’Etat in a neutral, gray-toned fabric. The chair was perfect for our space! However, the fabric was not. We wanted something that would blend well with our impactful Timorous Beasties wallcovering and dramatic Kyle Bunting hair-on-hide rug.
What do you think a revitalized piece brings to a space that a brand-new piece might not?
Choosing to restore a piece with Revitaliste—rather than buying new—breathes fresh life into something that already holds meaning for a family, which can be incredibly rewarding. It allows you to honor what’s special to a client without replacing it entirely. In fact, it's often the vintage or revitalized pieces that spark the most interest in a project. And from a sustainability perspective, reusing rather than purchasing new is always a win.
Do you have any favorite sources or strategies when it comes to finding vintage pieces?
The Alameda Point Antiques Faire is hands-down my favorite source—it’s an absolute treasure trove of cool vintage finds at great prices. I’ll usually show up with one piece in mind, not knowing what I’ll discover, and almost always leave with exactly what I needed… plus four unexpected gems I didn’t know I couldn’t live without!
What was your thought process in selecting the new fabric for the chair?
We wanted a fabric that felt soft, cozy, and inviting, and we found the perfect match in an exquisite, nubby bouclé from Pindler in a rich Oxblood red—it captured exactly the look and feel we were going for.
What was your experience like collaborating with Revitaliste on this project?
Collaborating with Revitaliste was a phenomenal experience—timely, professional, and the chair turned out beautifully. We’ll absolutely be working with them again!
