Every spring, the San Francisco Decorator Showcase transforms an iconic home into a living gallery of design, where visitors can wander through rooms positively bursting with inspiration. And this year’s Showcase? It’s as bold, beautiful, and boundary-pushing as ever. Since 2016, Revitaliste has had the joy of partnering with some of the Bay Area’s most creative minds to breathe new life into old furniture for this much-loved event.
This year, we were honored to collaborate with five visionary design firms—John K Anderson, Katie Monkhouse, Julie Rootes Interiors, HKB Interior Design, and TRG Architects—to weave revitalized pieces into their thoughtfully curated rooms. From sculptural seating to soulful vintage finds, each piece was transformed with intention and artistry.
Read on to discover the stories behind each space—and the revitalized gems that helped bring them to life.

Imaginarium
Step inside this imaginative retreat by HKB Interior Design for a selfie-loving, graffiti-obsessed thirteen-year-old—a space that’s equal parts playful, artful, and built to grow right along with him. We collaborated with Heather and her team to create a French hand-tufted mattress and custom cushions that bring both comfort and character to the room.
What inspired your decision to do a French hand-tufted mattress for this space?
When my 13-year-old son, Hayes, told me he wanted a bed that would still 'look good' without being made, the idea for the French hand-tufted mattress was born. It was the perfect solution for creating a kid’s room that feels tidy and stylish—even when the bed isn’t perfectly made.
How did you find Studio Ashby and their fabulous fabrics that you used for the mattress and cushions?
We’ve had a couple of Studio Ashby fabrics on our “favorite fabric wall of fame” for over a year—just waiting for the perfect project. And what better opportunity to showcase two of our favorites than in a boys’ room for a Showcase house?
What made these fabrics the right choice for the pieces—and the room?
Studio Ashby describes their studio as part shop, part playground—and that spirit really resonated with us. Anytime they release something new, whether it’s a fabric or a piece of furniture, we’re eager to see it. Their collaboration with Yarn Collective produces some of the most distinctive, one-of-a-kind fabrics out there, and we absolutely love working with them.
Do you have any favorite sources or strategies when it comes to finding boutique textile brands?
We’re always scouring and staying curious. We love discovering the little guys—boutique textile brands that, like us, are all about craftsmanship and creativity. If we can create beautiful pieces while supporting small businesses, we’re all in.
What was your experience like collaborating with Revitaliste on this project?
Revitaliste was amazing—truly better than we could have imagined. Their system is incredibly organized, with all communication in one place, so you’re never hunting through emails for details. They were prompt, responsive, and a joy to work with. And let’s be honest, crafting a 14-inch-thick French mattress takes serious skill and strength. We’re so glad we partnered with Revitaliste on this project!
